Founded in 1986 to produce the Victoria Fringe Festival – an international theatre event, open to performing artists of all levels of experience – Intrepid Theatre has become the mother-ship of Victoria’s independent theatre scene: providing venues, accessibility, advice, resources, mentorship, development programs for work by emerging artists, and connection to contemporary theatre internationally. We support and promote new home-grown work, while bringing remarkable work to Victoria for the first time, and introduce exciting contemporary artists to local audiences.
Mandate: To educate and enhance the public’s awareness and appreciation of progressive styles of theatre by encouraging, developing, and producing adventurous works for audiences.

Mission Statement: To enhance the experience of contemporary theatre in Victoria.
Intrepid Theatre is committed to diversity within our community and especially welcomes applications from visible minority group members, women, indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, members of sexual minority groups, and others who may contribute to the further diversification of ideas.
