Call for artists: Diva Cab

This is an open call for artists for the closing night cabaret at OUTstages, Intrepid’s queer theatre festival – Diva Cab. This cabaret closes the festival, with a 9pm show on Saturday, June 24 and features local & festival artists. Come play!

From the Great White Way to seedy back alleys, from the silver screen to the halls of history, divas have always been an important part of queer identity. Local and festival performers salute, send-up and worship at the altar of their favourite divas – real and imaginary – in this multidisciplinary cabaret and closing night party all in one.

Pieces can be any type of live performance, or a new work-in-development and we encourage artists of all disciplines to apply. All pieces should be inspired by, or in some way relate to Divas – music, fashion, drag, performance, literary, or imaginary. Divas have been an important part of queer culture and queer history, from pop stars to activists, from drag queens to literary heroes.
