Artist Opportunities Info Session

This free event is an opportunity for local artists to learn about the residencies, prizes, and opportunities available for local artists that Intrepid Theatre, Dance Victoria, Belfry Theatre and Pacific Opera Victoria offer year-round. It’s a casual event (you don’t need to prepare anything or pitch anything!), and a great opportunity to learn more ways that local artists can develop their work, get on stage, or access paid opportunities.

The info session will feature an introduction to the organization and their artist programs  from Gillian (Dance Victoria), Brenna (Pacific Opera), Michael (Belfry Theatre) and Sean (Intrepid Theatre) followed by opportunities to chat one-on-one with each organization to get more details or talk about your project.

4:00pm – mingle, snacks and drinks in the lobby
4:30pm – presentations from Intrepid, Dance Victoria, Belfry Theatre and Pacific Opera in the Intrepid Studio followed by 1-1 conversations throughout the space

Dance Victoria offers many opportunities for local dance artists, including residencies at their Quadra Street studios and the Chrystal Dance Prize. https://dancevictoria.com/create/

Intrepid Theatre offers several artist opportunities, including the OUTstages Residency for queer artists, conVERGE Residency (In partnership with Puente Theatre) for BIPOC artists, the Fringe Indigenous Artist Program, and a free space access program.

Pacific Opera Victoria offers artists opportunities to perform in their mainstage shows at The Royal Theatre as chorus members and supernumeraries, and is interested in supporting local work at The Baumann Centre.

The Belfry Theatre offers opportunities for local artists throughout their season.
