UNO Works is an evening of three short new works by some of Victoria’s most daring female artists: Sarah Murphy (CCPA alum), Ann-Bernice Thomas (past Victoria youth poet laureate) and Eddi Wilson (drag king/performance artist Eddi Licious).

Commissioned specifically for UNO Fest, UNO Works is artist-driven. There is no formula for making new work for the stage and we invite you to come and witness the thrill ride that is intrepid artists from diverse, interdisciplinary backgrounds redefining what theatre is.

Pay-What-You-Can – All shows marked * are Pay-What-You-Can for tickets at the door. We reserve 25% of every Uno Fest Opening Night for PWYC tickets. Advance tickets for these shows are regular price.

About the artists:

Proudly hailing from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Sarah Murphy now lives in Victoria where she works as an actor, singer, choreographer, and playwright. Recent credits include: BlissKrieg (Atomic Vaudeville), The Rocky Horror Show (Atomic Vaudeville and RKO Productions), Animal Crackers (Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre), Action Revue: Feel the Fight (Atomic Vaudeville), The Ami Project (Theatre SKAM), and James and the Giant Peach (Kaleidoscope Theatre).

Ann-Bernice Thomas is a UVIC student double majoring in Theatre and Creative Writing. The 2016 Youth Poet Laureate of Victoria; she is a spoken word artist, activist, actor, and more. Check her out at www.wildwomanpoetry.com

Eddi Wilson is a Victoria based dancer, gender bender and performance artist. This Two Spirit Métis mover revels in being a sentient ecosystem in an increasingly sanitized and mechanized world.
