Intrepid Theatre

The Fringe Club is the magnet for artists and Fringers from early evening to the wee hours of the morning most days of the festival. Have a drink (or two) between shows, meet the artists, kick back and stick around for hot nightly programming. It’s open nightly from 7pm til late (almost) every day of the festival!

Here’s the list of Fringey late-night activities:

Thurs Aug. 27 – Opening Night Shindig! Don’t miss local performer Carolyn Mark, a Canadian alternative country singer-songwriter who has performed and recorded with Neko Case, Frog Eyes, and Blackout Beach, to name a few. In 2009 she co-released Let’s Just Stay Here which was nominated for a 2010 Juno Award, in the Roots & Traditional Album category.

Fri. Aug. 28 – You’ll hear everywhere that Fringe is a big, weird family. And what does every family do? They Feud! Join us for a night of Family Feud with some of your favourite Fringers.

Sat. Aug. 29 – Karaoke. Need we say more?

Sun Aug. 30 – Closed for Sunday Funday at the VEC. This cabaret fundraiser features the local talents of Atomic Vaudeville and visiting Fringers. Get your drink on at this event!

Mon. Aug. 31 – Quiz Night and Spelling Bee. Come with a team or join one when you get to Fringe Club to prove your trivia prowess and spelling skills. Prizes will be awarded.

Tues. Sept. 1 – Ever wonder what comedians think at the movies? Find out tonight as we invite a few favourite comedians to host a screening/tear in to a classic Sci-Fi B movie.

Wed. Sept. 2 – MONOBROW! This solo-slam cabaret pits local and festival artists against each other in a competitive monologue battle. All proceeds benefit the Megan Newton Memorial Award in Theatre.

Thurs. Sept. 3 – Game Night! Nerd out hard.

Fri. Sept. 4 – Karaoke Redux!

Sat. Sept. 5 – Under the Sea Prom Night! Put on your best outfit inspired by the deep blue sea and enjoy a sweaty dance party.

Sun. Sept. 6 – Closed for Pick Of The Fringe Awards – Swing on by the Metro Studio to find out who cleans up at awards night and then stick around for dancing, drinking, and general tomfoolery.
