Welcome to the ocean. Grab a life vest. You’ve just floated upon a theatrical explosion between the self-help aisle and the marine life section of the bookstore in this ted Talk/theatre mashup. A love letter from the academic and the artist to the planet. Jellyfish are Immortal is a bizarre yet thoughtful look at the monsters we see on our screens and the monsters we see within ourselves. We’re going deep, but it’s going to be a party.

“Hayduk carries it all with irrepressible energy and charm… she makes a deep point to Jellyfish Are Immortal.” -CBC

“…well crafted and beautifully executed…” – Montreal Rampage

About the artists:

Sydney Hayduk is a writer, producer, performer, stage manager and lover of movement. Coming from Winnipeg’s cold climate, she never quite could stand still. Sydney is forever dedicated to revealing the necessity of emotional development within our current social, political and environmental realm; beyond limits or boarders. She is interested in the social enrichment performance art can have on communities and how that can be used as a tool in healing and resiliency.

Thea Fitz-James is part academic and part theatre practitioner. Thea’s work sits at the intersection of storytelling, academia, performance art, and theatre. She is interested in dissecting contemporary depictions of women and feminism, exploring the where personal narratives and political ones intersect, and her own intersectionality as a manic, queer, cis-gendered, white, female settler.

Peachy Keen Production was founded in 2013 by Sydney Hayduk & Christy Taronno. Created as a platform to give these then young shakers a platform for social change by playing weird.
