Death to hypocrisy, smash the state, fuck the patriarchy, damn the lies. J McLaughlin’s life-long passion for miniature golf and Aeolian harps inspires a whimsical journey of self-discovery, self-forgiveness, empowerment, and love.* J is a mean, funny, petulant, weird queer old maid. Written for this year’s festival, But Wait! There’s More! follows previous UNO Fest shows including This Time I Mean It (2017), and unpacks the jorrows** of anxiety, ecstasy, true love, dark thoughts, outer space, inner peace, death, desire, enlightenment, sex, smoking, drinking, fear, rage, paranoia, guilt, greed, pleasure, failure, egomania, megalomania, and other people.

About the artist
J. McLaughlin has been entertaining, enthralling & occasionally terrorizing burlesque, stand-up, theatrical & music audiences for over 25 years. Working from a philosophy of desperate optimism, McLaughlin exploits her personal experiences, using analytical observation & twisted fantasies to create hilarious narratives that temporarily solve all the problems in the world.
