hapax theatre’s 2020 season begins with the world-premiere of Castle On The Farm. It’s the first year of high school and 14-year-old Layla planned to crush it in the best-friend and boyfriend department. But then her dad is arrested and charged with attempted murder, leaving Layla struggling with a tidal wave of emotions. At home, her older sister Amber Ray fights with her mom about everything. To find refuge, Layla holes up in her room with her most prized possessions: her Christine Sinclair poster, a Demi Lovato album, and the book, The Four Agreements. With these supports in her grip, Layla is able to explore her pain and maybe, just maybe, find healing in the process. Winner of Theatre BC’s best one act play of 2019.
