In Drag Through Time, a hilariously bold adventure unfolds as Aria Okay takes the stage at Intrepid Theatre’s Outstages Festival. Frustrated by land acknowledgments and pre-show traditions, Aria is suddenly yanked back in time by the fabulous and feisty Gay God, who’s had enough of Aria’s attitude. Guided by Gay God and a lively host of “gangels,” Aria journeys through Victoria’s iconic, vanished queer bars—like Rumors, Hush, and BJ’s—to learn essential lessons on drag show etiquette, from tipping and media respect to consent and bringing high-energy vibes.

About the artists

Founded by Shelita Cox, Drag Sunday Productions is at the forefront of queer performance in Victoria, celebrated for creating dynamic, inclusive drag experiences. Known for their legendary Drag Sunday shows, affectionately called “Gay Church” by fans, they provide a platform for queer artistry and community connection. Relaunched under the name CHURCH, Drag Sunday Productions continues its tradition of empowering new talent and honoring queer culture.

Their productions include the beloved Rocky Horror: An All-Drag Cast, a cult-classic spin on The Rocky Horror Show. Each show combines humor, history, and bold performances that spotlight local LGBTQ+ stories. With an ever-expanding lineup, Drag Sunday Productions remains dedicated to uplifting voices, challenging norms, and celebrating drag as both art and activism.

Born and raised in Victoria BC, Aria has been performing and Drag for the last three years, while spending more than a decade training as a professional dancer, and working in the entertainment field. Self proclaimed, “Dancing Diva”, your favourite Diabetic Doll is always ready for a wiggle & giggle on a stage near you. Can we get an OKAY?!?

JBird McLaughlin has been entertaining, offending & occasionally unnerving audiences for over 20 years. They have been called “hilarious”, “iconic”, & “scary good”.

They live in Oak Bay with their mother.

Proud Owner Operator of Drag Sunday Productions.

Shelita has been a long-time pillarstone in the Victoria, BC Drag Community for over seven years producing shows and uplifting other performers. With Indigenous roots to the Kwa’Kwa’Kawake speaking peoples of the Namgis’ First Nations she is a proud Indigenous performer.

Henrietta Dubét is Victoria’s very own millennial MILF—bold, boisterous, and BODACIOUS! Known for her commanding presence and a sassy charm that’ll have you begging for more, Henny isn’t here to play nice. With sharp wit and a glamorous edge, she’s ready to lovingly berate you and serve unforgettable performances with style and sass.
