Obsessed with traveling to the past, an astronaut and her French Bulldog, Jezebel, explore the universe trying to unravel the mysteries behind time travel. From distant galaxies full of non- verbal life forms, all the way to Portland, Oregon, the astronaut is desperately searching to crack the code. A tale of adventure, heroism, mortality and love, it is a modern-day Turner and Hooch… meets Space Jam… meets Einstein’s theory of relativity.  An interweaving of text, movement and a literally untrained French Bulldog – each show is a new adventure.

Presented as a Double Bill with Makambe K. Simamba’s Our Fathers, Sons, Lovers and Little Brothers as part of the UNO Fest Development Series.

Note: Allergy warning, real-life French Bulldog on stage

About the artist:
Ainsley Hillyard is an Edmonton-based choreographer, performer and educator who works in contemporary dance and theatre. She is a vegan, animal lover and proud puppy mom. Bumble Bear Productions was created to showcase the collaborative work between Ainsley and Jezebel, her French bulldog. Although Jezebel has not been formally trained at any academy she is self taught in the art of being housebroken and she possesses a high degree of emotional intelligence. With help from her artistic collaborator Ainsley Hillyard, she has mastered ‘sit’ and ‘stay’ for short periods of time, but mostly leans on her extremely sweet demeanor, sassy side sit and snorts to captivate an audience while onstage.
