“But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? It is the East, and Esmé is the sun.”

The Daisy Theatre gang is back with their irreverent hijinks as they take on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet in Little Willy. Burlesque star Dolly Wiggler starts the show with an Elizabethan striptease in this riotously funny improvised mash-up of one of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays. All the leading ladies of the Daisy ensemble battle for the role of Juliet, including faded diva Esme Massengill in a boozy interpretation of the lovesick ingénue.  Beloved audience favourites Schnitzel and Mrs. Edna Rural are back in supporting roles, and adding to the fun and mayhem, The Bard himself joins The Daisy Theatre cast for a twisted retelling of this timeless tale.

After two sold-out runs of The Daisy Theatre from Ronnie Burkett Theatre of Marionettes in 2015 and 2017, we are overjoyed to welcome this Canadian theatrical imagineer back to Victoria for a limited run with this brand new show.

“Ronnie is a force on stage. His incredible skills as a puppeteer are matched only by his unique voice as a creator. This show promises favourite characters from The Daisy Theatre in a new take on the Bard’s classic, with some puppet burlesque, high camp, and one of the country’s most beloved theatre artists. Please, don’t miss this show – it will be the talk of the town!”
-Sean Guist, Artistic Director
