Mixed-up explores the many over-lapping cultural similarities between John Aitken’s Coast Salish lineage and his Scottish lineage. This production will explore John’s struggles and celebrations to define his identity as a person of mixed ancestry.
John Aitken of Surrounded by Owls Productions will perform an excerpt of his latest work-in-progress. This roughly 20 minute performance concludes with a talk-back which will provide John with critical information, as he moves forward with developing this piece.
This performance was originally part of the Intrepid Theatre You Show series and was made possible by a grant received by the First People’s Heritage, Language & Culture Council and donation by Mayne Island Little Theatre.
