Intrepid Theatre

PRUDE is a hilarious and high-energy blend of stand-up and drag. The piece begins as a motivational talk, given to the audience by the King of the Party, there to show everyone HOW TO HAVE A GOOD TIME. Slowly, through lip-syncs and mortifying personal tales, we watch them unravel onstage, digging into the complex experience of being an asexual in an (allo)sexual world.

About the artists:
Probably Theatre Collective is an interdisciplinary and interprovincial arts collective based in Tkaronto/Toronto and Kjipuktuk/Halifax. Its three founding artists are Lou Campbell, Laura Gallagher-Doucette, and Dylan Tate-Howarth. Using techniques of theatre devising and collaborative writing, the collective combines roles of authorship, directorship, and performance in order to create work that rejects hierarchical models of creation. This process allows them to continually explore their goal of redefining what a theatrical experience can look like. They produce a successful performance series called Probably Poetry that uplifts other artists and facilitates the creation of new work.

Lou Campbell (they/them) is a performance artist based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax. Their practice traverses a wide range of disciplines including poetry, sound art, improv, comedy, and the odd clown collage when a worldwide pandemic shuts their entire industry down. They create work that unpacks the inner workings of their own experiences, usually manifesting in the open sharing of mortifying past mistakes.

Dylan Tate-Howarth (she/her) is a theatre artist and poet based in Tkaronto/Toronto. She works as a stage manager primarily for new and/or devised theatre. Selected stage management credits include Two Birds One Stone (Two Birds Theatre); Italian Mime Suicide, and Flashing Lights (Bad New Days); Broken Shapes (The Theatre Centre); and White Girls in Moccasins (manidoons collective and Buddies in Bad Times).
