A single mother and her rebellious teenage daughter collide when a love interest comes between them, leaving the youngest daughter in the crossfire. Writer-performer Anna Chatterton, armed with a microphone, laptop and vocal processor, crafts and conducts a sonic landscape to tell this dark, delicious comedy about a passionate and imperfect family.
“A brilliant and brave play.” – Judith Thompson
“Chatterton’s play …goes behind closed doors of a salacious family event, while straddling the line between humour and tragedy. Chatterton infuses this potentially traumatizing story with plenty of humour in both her writing and performance…. Chatterton’s presence onstage is undeniable and endlessly watchable.” – Carly Maga – The Star
“innovative staging and raw storytelling power … a creative and profoundly moving exploration of the female voice.…an extremely cutting-edge night at the theatre…. Chatterton’s facial expressions do an excellent job of portraying each character distinctly… I loved this play’s depiction of the sweetness, confusion, and anguish of adolescence and adulthood alike… often playful, often painful, and always deeply human.” – Chris Klippenstein, Mooney On Theatre
Directed by Andrea Donaldson, Sound design byMichael Rinaldi, Lighting Design by Andre Du Toit.
