As part of our Winter Series we are offering free online programming. This artist talk will be available to view live on our Facebook page, and can be viewed on demand at later dates.

Playwright Janet Munsil took to Zoom early on in the pandemic, creating The Canadian Play Thing from her home in Victoria to support playwrights in getting their work read on a new digital stage. Janet and The Canadian Play Thing’s Project Coordinator Justin F Lee join Intrepid’s Sean Guist to talk about creating theatre in the digital space, the challenges, the rewards, and where we might go from here.

Since launching in March, The Canadian Play Thing has featured readings of more than 60 scripts from playwrights across the country have been read online and new projects, like The Apartment of Writing, have been created to support and develop new work from playwrights.
