A production being done in the Naheyan language as the majority language. It is by a new learner of language, and culture and identity. One story of the loss of literal generations of children to a Genocide, simply put.

Finding a way to translate a play into what could have been a mother tongue at home language in common parlance.

Cree re Neheya language play.

Here we are on the side of history being confused and intrigued to actually feel and learn more.

Attendees are welcome to bring hand drums to the performance.

Reading before the show:

The importance of reading this story outline: this be understated:

This story outline explains as closely as possible what is being described in the Naheyan language throughout the performance. Without it, the story will not make sense, but is a way to learn about it in the language it could have been. It tells what is being described as closely as possible to the Naheyan language performance so without this the story will still not make sense but is a way to learn about it in the language it could have been.

Tricoz Productions

Founded in 2017 Tricoz Production(s) has gone from mostly English shows to this point.

They have been hard at work learning different aboriginal languages especially Neheya re Cree making their next endeavor to be a show in Neheya with a translation in approximately what the play is saying.

Having several festival, Residencies, and local support this next show is going to be confusing in a way that Indigenous persons have been for centuries. Why are they saying things that do not make sense in this world view.

Accessibility

Content warnings: Coarse language; adult themes; violence; mentions of genocide, rape, and colonialism; mentions, themes, or depictions of sexualized violence, racialized violence, suicide, and substance abuse. Being in Neheya the actual warnings are somewhat superfluous due to it being an unrecognizable language to most. Likely even to fluent speakers.

Sensory warnings: Loud sudden sound(s); audience interaction/participation.

For more accessibility information see the Accessibility at the Fringe page on our website.
