the Gift is about a boy growing up in a First Nations family struggling with violence, alcoholism, dysfunction and tragedy. In order to survive, John makes himself as invisible as possible and doesn’t speak. The performance communicates his story without dialogue and invites the audience to explore their own stories. the Gift is about reconciliation, healing, finding your voice and celebration.
