By making a donation to Intrepid Theatre, you are part of an amazing community of donors made up of adventurous theatre-goers, and community-minded individuals who are committed to keeping cutting edge, contemporary theatre at the centre of the city’s arts scene.
Intrepid Theatre works hard to make live performance affordable and accessible to everyone. Our regular ticket prices are low, and we program pay-what-you-can opening nights of many shows, while paying the artists professional fees. At the Fringe 100% of all the ticket sales go directly to the artists.
Our commitment to the dual cause of affordability and paying artists for their work doesn’t come cheap – the price you pay to see one of our festival shows may only cover one-third of the actual cost of presenting the show to you.
That’s why we raise funds year-round to support local performing artists, and bring great theatre from around the world to our special presentations and festivals in Victoria. We write countless grants, develop meaningful partnerships with sponsors, throw great fundraising parties and auctions, and call on favours from friends to make our festivals – which reach almost 30,000 people a year – possible.
It is only with the help of Individual Donors that we can continue to bring the latest and greatest contemporary theatre to Vancouver Island, and support the local theatre artists who are making the great work that represents Victoria around the world.
We have several donor levels with prestige perks, but donations of any size are welcome.
