ASL interpreted performances

The April 11 & 12 performances of Deafy feature integrated accessibility. It is presented in ASL, English and captions and d/Deaf, hearing and hard of hearing audiences can participate equally. The April 11 performance will feature an ASL interpreted talkback. Interpreter announcements coming shortly.

Free tickets are available to Deaf and Hard of Hearing audience members (see below for details).


Venue Accessibility and Info

The Metro Studio Theatre, 1411 Quadra Street (at Johnson) has wheelchair accessible seating and washrooms available. A Venue Access Guide & Venue Visual Story can be found here.

The Intrepid Studio at 2-1609 Blanshard Street is wheelchair accessible and has one accessible all gender single stall washrooms. A Venue Access Guide & Venue Visual Story can be found here.

The Festival Hub at 2A – 1609 Blanshard Street (next door to the Intrepid Studio) has wheelchair accessible seating and and has one accessible all gender single stall washroom.

Please indicate any accessibility needs, including wheelchair accessible seating or if you require seating with no stairs, in the provided field. We will do our best to assign seating that works for you and get in touch if we have any questions. A Venue Visual Guide can be found here.


Free ASL Tickets Program

Free tickets are available to ASL interpreted shows in this year’s festival to anyone who self-identifies as part of the d/Deaf community. Like all tickets, these must be booked in advance online (or in-person at an arranged time or during posted box office hours), up until 2 hours before the performance you want to attend. To book an Access2Go ticket, please call Parker at 250-383-2663.
