About the artist/company

Lou Laurence is a Montreal-based singer, comedian, songwriter, and improviser. She graduated from UVic’s Creative Writing department after ESA’s musical theatre program. Lou toured Quebec with DJ Champion and toured around Canada and the UK as a solo artist. Most recently, she has been performing her blend of narrative musical comedy in English and French comedy festivals like Minifest and Montreal Sketchfest. Lou’s style is conversational, jazzy and acoustic. Her voice blends the powerful, soulful tones of Amy Winehouse and the raw passion of Janis Joplin and her humour is clever and optimistic.
