Winner of “Best Ensemble” and “Best Dramedy” at Victoria Fringe 2024, Alectoria Productions presents “Origins of the Coast”; an interactive site specific whimsical show blending puppetry, grief and environmental fantasy at Macaulay Point Park.

Through fleeting moments of dance, exploration, and games that the audience can interact with, “Origins of the Coast” is a wonderful mix of hope, resilience, beauty and fear. What’s in the hidden shrubbery? What do you see when you look under that log? What do you hear when you look up? You’ll discover the answers as you walk through the beautiful backdrop of Macaulay Point Park.

In raw, quiet moments, the creatures and audience at the Point search for one another—unaware that every step, every choice, draws them closer, shaping the story that binds them all.

Reviews

“I wish I could be in the show or see it every night because this show does something to me when I watch it I get so invested. Something about the immersion and improv.”

“Yoo that was so cool, I had no idea what to expect but I was blown away. The level of acting was unreal, like they were all such talented and funny people! That’s the closest I’ve gotten to feeling like I’m living a video game or like simulation. So cool!”

About the Artist

Alectoria Productions hopes to bring purposeful theatre to life in utterly immersive site specific performances. The implication of the audience, witnesses, in a story, allows them to explore the concept and solve hypothetical situations in an environment where the stakes are ultimately none, but the feeling presents real.

We aim to invoke desire, passion and vulnerability in our performances, whether in a castle, lighthouse, garden, or on a boat!
