Intrepid Theatre

From theatre to dance, to film shoots and screenings, Intrepid Theatre hosts two venues that have become stalwarts of the local indie performance scene. Our venues, the Metro Studio and the Intrepid Studio, are available for rent year-round.

The Metro Studio

The Metro Studio is the only live performance space of its kind in downtown Victoria, BC. This 172 seat black box-style theatre is fully equipped for theatre, dance, spoken word, musical theatre, film screenings, rehearsals, and film shoots. The Metro is home to Intrepid Theatre’s Victoria Fringe Theatre Festival, the OUTstages and Incoming festivals, as well as an annual presenting series of touring work.

The Intrepid Studio

The Intrepid Studio is the hub of new and independent theatre in downtown Victoria. With a seating capacity of 45, the Studio is ideal for anything from small productions, workshops, auditions, and play readings to lectures, classes, photo shoots, and rehearsals. In addition to rentals, the Intrepid Studio is also home to Intrepid Theatre’s own festivals and programs, such as OUTstages, Incoming, the You Show, and the New Play Reading Series. The Studio is equipped with a basic lighting plot, sound system, and theatre drapes; you supply your own technician. This DIY space is very popular.
