Come support the Calgary Zoo/Wilder Institute in a brand new province-mandated enrichment initiative. As an advocate for those who are often not listened to, Zookeeper Chelsea has organized an open mic for the residents of the zoo. Through a variety of mediums including but not limited to standup, poetry, and song, the animals will discuss topics such as body image, aging, grief and loss, addiction, and belonging. Join them as they express the most vulnerable and honest parts of the human spirit in a uniquely animalistic way… An electric, emotional evening awaits!
Reviews
“These performers have an unmatched energy. They are making some of the most engaging, unconventional, and original work I have seen in Calgary.”
“Absolutely killer act.”
“I have to admit I assumed it would go over my head and just be really weird theatre, but that was maybe the best thing I’ve seen in years. Hilarious but also meaningful??? It was perfectly balanced.”
“I haven’t laughed that hard in so long. I’m having like an existential crisis about how amazing that was.”
“Holy f*cking sh*t.”

About the Artist
Comprised of Joseph McManus (director of the award-winning show Rat Academy), Ciarán Volke (half of award-winning comedy duo COWBOY), and Marlo Hepburn (owner of an award-winning heart). Sometime between the hours of 10 and 11pm on June 10th 2024, at the play structure on Kensington Close NW between 12th Street and 13th Street, Three Cheese was born out of an abundance of joy. Collectively, the three Cheeses have years of experience in theatre, improv, marching band, clown, dance, walking around, transcendence, amelioration, radical acceptance, and having a really good time. They do whatever.
